Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer boasts a singular architectural heritage, directly linked to the birth of the village in the early XXᵉ century.

As early as 1925, the creation of the housing estate left a lasting mark on the landscape, with theRayol church, the Pateck pergola and, above all, the famous flowered staircases. With their 882 steps, the longest in France, they link the village to the sea through shale walls and Mediterranean gardens, and are now listed as a Monument Historique.

Around them, several emblematic villas (San Marino, La Pompéienne, Roches Blanches) bear witness to neo-Provençal and antique influences, while Domaine du Rayol tells the more recent history of the site, between architecture, the memory of the Provence Landings and preservation of the coastline.

Less than 30 minutes’ drive away is Cavalaire-sur-Mer, appreciated for its large sandy beach, lively port and easy-to-walk-on seafront.

Further afield, Saint-Tropez attracts visitors with its mythical port and lively streets, while Ramatuelle, Cogolin and Port Grimaud offer very different atmospheres, with panoramic views, crafts and canals.
